Hello Again! Oops It's Already Monday!
Dear Rose,
Hi ya. Time flies, especially when it is weekend. What have I done for these seven days in past week? It seems too rushed to be remembered. Nevertheless, today (25th October 2015, Sunday) is a special day out of all extraordinary days - meeting my teachers.
I had rehearsal at Aswara for student big band recording project this morning. As usual I was about to meet people whom make music. Surprisingly, I bumped into my secondary school marching band teacher - Mr Goh. I was thinking we might be able to meet someday playing music together, as I believe the music circle is so small, somehow the close relations within people in the industry will bring us together at some circumstances. And it happened, Mr Goh was coming for the project rehearsal. It was little happy moment for us.
After the rehearsal, I had quick lunch with parents before heading to KLCC. Today MPO performed Wagner's Ring - big brass thing. Composer - Wagner enlarged brass section by adding contrabass trombone, Wagner tuba and bass trumpet. I was too tired to focus throughout the 75 minutes, no intermission concert. But no doubt, it was a breathtaking performance highlighted the magnificent brass section. The strings were great and percussion always made us wondered from where those cinematic horse galloping and bright clash sounds they produced. Brilliant, Wagner, brilliant!
Wai Kent and En Mustaqim walked down the stairs while I was looking for En Mustaqim. Wai Kent and I should had came together from Aswara if we both knew we were about to attend the same concert. " Meet your teacher." En Mustaqim told to me before I realized that was Marques he mentioned. I quickly approached to both of them quietly, shh .. " Where are you going? " - Marques asked, I was about to laugh. He hugged me and I was too happy to meet both my trombone tutors at the moment. Standing in between them probably would make me the happiest student.
Yesterday (24th October 2015, Saturday) was Weekly Intensive Program (WIT) day at Dewan Filharmonik Petronas as usual. My class with Brett was cancelled due to rescheduled of chamber music session with JB. I helped Lance to grab his Wagner's Ring concert ticket.
23rd October 2015, Friday - Wyng Yeen came to have lunch with me at KLCC before I started my practice; 22nd October 2015, Thursday - I met C Min at Aswara and she brought me to her gu zheng room. I played and started to know about gu zheng, such fun!
19th, 20th, 21st October 2015 - I was about to fall sick. Took short break to feel recharged.
One thing I love about En Mustaqim is whenever I asked a " Should I .. " for his opinion, he would definitely answer a " Why not? ". Or else he would analyse anything with me but there would never a " no." And in this case, if he said " Why not? " then I'd definitely go for it no matter how many doubts I had before, because he is always a big part of my backbone strength, my security. Of course, I am so thankful for both my parents too. They never let me fight alone, always discuss and give clearer picture to times I hardly can imagine. Goodnight my love, world.
